The Fifth Annual Bass Tournament and Barbecue was a great success.  It was the largest turnout since the tournament began, with 52 fishermen on 26 boats competing on a beautiful Saturday morning. The fishermen fished between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. with the top finishers as follows:

First Place: Wayne Beckman and EricTavels with a weight of 13 lbs. 6 oz. and prize money of $1,000.

Second Place: Mike Crown and Dan Conway with a total weight of 12 lbs. 15 oz. ($500}.

Third Place: Ron Martino and Paul Bednarczyk with a total weight of 12 lbs. 7 oz. {$300}.

Fourth Place: Dave Douglas and Mike Schauer with a total weight of 11 lbs. 15 oz. {$200}.

Fifth Place: James Buschinski and Gary Buschinski with a total weight of 11 lbs. 6 oz.

The lunker was caught by Tom Fori, who was fishing with Nick Varinos, with a lunker weight of 3 lbs. 5 oz. and 18 inches long {$260} and a nice bait casting rod and reel combination that was donated by Sleepy Hollow Caretakers.  The barbecue went smoothly as well, thanks to Charlie and Dottie Link, Jeff and Elizabeth Levin, Debbie Perrotta, Lois Robbins, and Mike and Diane Clarke, as the served approximately 150 guests, including fishermen, families, friends , and other property owners at the lodge.  Thanks to the generous donations from Sleepy Hollow, Realty USA, Steiner’s Sports, Dick’s Sports, River Basin and Riverview Marine as well as generous donations from all fishermen. Joe Lombardo did a great job running the kid’s contest Special thanks to Dean DiBenedetto, who again helped Mike run the fishing contest and conducted the post- tournament weigh-in .
