The Community

The Sleepy Hollow Lake Community represents a diverse cross section of couples, families, singles and retirees. Sleepy Hollow Lake is uncommon in offering a wide variety of properties and homes in many price ranges, thereby making this outstanding Hudson Valley lifestyle available to those of modest means in addition to those well established.

Full and part time residents are evenly divided among the 750 homes in the Association. Currently, there are approximately 1587 dues paying property owners in good standing.

Monthly community events sponsored by the Social Affairs committee are held at the lakeside community lodge. These include specialty dinners, holiday parties, annual breakfasts, dances, annual Fourth of July fireworks, etc. An annual bass fishing tournament is also held for property owners and children.

Many members participate in regular weekly classes and activities such as Tai-Chi, Mother Goose Playgroup, book clubs, craft club, walking clubs, etc.

The Coxsackie-Athens School District encompasses the entire Sleepy Hollow Lake community.  Grammar aged children attend either the Elementary School in Athens or Coxsackie.  Junior and High School aged students attend the Coxsackie-Athens Jr./Sr. High School located in Coxsackie.  For more information on the school district, visit their web site at:
